Todd talks about the benefits of Starry's Xbox monopoly: just like mentioning Zelda, you can think of Switch.
CTOnews.com, Sept. 6, in the latest interview with BBC, Bethesda's head of development, Todd Howard, discussed the benefits of Starry Sky as an exclusive Xbox game and compared Nintendo's brand relationship with its first-party games.
Todd said that adapting the game to a platform's mainframe allows the development team to "focus" and "produce better work."
"when you make exclusive works, you can be more focused. You are familiar with the hardware that players will run, so the ability to focus on this will always produce better products. Despite the success of our previous games, as far as I know, there are more expected players this time than ever before."
Todd also uses Nintendo's game monopoly strategy as an analogy, hoping to bundle games with console brands. "I do think people will attach brands to certain games. When you think of Zelda, you think of Switch, which I think can sometimes bring real benefits."
CTOnews.com found that Todd's comments echoed those of Pete Hines, Bethesda's head of marketing, who said in a June trial between Microsoft and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over Activision Blizzard's future acquisition that, in some cases, developing for fewer platforms could simplify workflows.
