CTOnews.com, September 11, China Automobile Association data show that in August, China's automobile production and sales completed 257.5 million vehicles and 2.582 million vehicles respectively, an increase of 7.2% and 8.2% month-on-month, and 7.5% and 8.4% respectively over the same period last year.

From January to August, automobile production and sales completed 1822.5 million and 18.21 million vehicles respectively, an increase of 7.4% and 8% respectively over the same period last year. The growth rate of production was the same as that of January-July, and the growth rate of sales was 0.1% lower than that of January-July.

In August this year, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China completed 8.43 million and 846000 respectively, an increase of 4.7% and 8.5% respectively over the previous month, and an increase of 22% and 27% respectively over the same period last year, with a market share of 32.8%.

From January to August, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China reached 543.4 million and 5.374 million respectively, an increase of 36.9% and 39.2% respectively over the same period last year, with a market share of 29.5%.

In August, domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 756000, up 11.4 percent from the previous month and 29.7 percent over the same period last year. Exports of 90,000 new energy vehicles were down 11.2 percent from the previous month, up 8.1 percent from the same period last year.

From January to August, domestic sales of new energy vehicles were 4.647 million, an increase of 32 percent over the same period last year, and exports of new energy vehicles were 727000, an increase of 1.1 percent over the same period last year.

From January to August this year, the total sales of the top 10 enterprise groups in China's new energy vehicle sales were 4.675 million, an increase of 53.8 percent over the same period last year, accounting for 87 percent of the total new energy vehicle sales, up 8.2 percent from the same period last year.

The whole new energy market is still in the stage of rapid growth. Among the top 10 enterprises (groups) in the sales of new energy vehicles, compared with the same period last year, the growth rate of ideal cars is the most significant, reaching 1.8 times the same period last year. The sales growth rates of SAIC and Dongfeng have declined, while other enterprises have increased to varying degrees.

CTOnews.com noted that the top three market concentration in China in August were BYD, Tesla and SAIC, with a combined share of 55.1%, of which BYD reached 274000, while Tesla and SAIC reached 84,000 and 91000.
