Loto Technology: monthly shipments of global TV ODM factories increased overall in August, while Foxconn contract manufacturing volume fell sharply by 47.6%.
CTOnews.com September 14 news, Loto Technology today announced the global TOP TV ODM factory monthly shipments in August. Within the scope of statistics, the total shipments of Top10's professional TV ODM factory in August increased by 17.1% compared with July, and increased by 7.6% compared with the same month last year.
Since February this year, shipments in the global TV contract manufacturing market have increased for seven consecutive months compared with the same period last year. Among the top 10 generation factories, Foxconn shipped 430000 units in August, down 47.6 per cent from a year earlier.
CTOnews.com learned from Loto Technology that Foxconn's customer structure is focused on Sony and Sharp, and global shipments of both brands fell sharply by double digits as of August, especially at Sony. Coupled with the fact that BOE VT undertakes more than 100000 contract manufacturing orders per month, Foxconn is under great pressure on its contract manufacturing performance this year.
▲ Tuyuan Luotu Technology specific foundry, TCL Group's MOKA (Maojia) shipped 1.48 million units that month, a record high, ranking first in August. In the past eight months, Maojia won the championship in seven months, with annual shipments approaching 10 million units, a year-on-year increase of 33.7%.
Maojia's shipment growth is mainly due to the excellent performance of its own brands in the global market. TCL TVs shipped about 11.5 million sets worldwide in the first half of this year, a sharp increase of about 16% compared with the same period last year.
TPV shipped 1.14 million units in August, ranking second in professional contract factories, up 0.4 per cent year-on-year and 18.8 per cent month-on-month. Shipments of its own brand Philips (Philips), which accounts for more than 30% of the internal total, increased by more than 10% month-on-month; shipments of domestic customers Hisense and Skyworth both achieved double-digit growth.
BOE VT, a contract manufacturer for Xiaomi, shipped 870000 units in August, rising to fourth among professional contract manufacturers compared with July, up 21.1% from a year earlier and 27.4% from a month earlier. Among domestic customers, Xiaomi has double-digit growth compared with the same month-on-month, while Hisense has doubled its growth.
According to previous data from Loto Technology, retail volume in online open retail channels in China's TV market (excluding content e-commerce such as Doukuai) fell by more than 20% in August 2023 compared with the same period last year. The four major foreign brands, Sony, Samsung, Philips and Sharp, shipped a total of about 100000 units in August, a year-on-year drop of 30 per cent and a combined market share of less than 5 per cent.
