CTOnews.com, September 20 (Xinhua)-- following strikes in cities such as Dijon and Lyon last month, union representatives at Apple's French stores are planning more strikes and demonstrations across the country when iPhone 15 goes on sale on Friday and Saturday, according to French media.

Unions representing employees at Apple Store stores in France, including CTG, CFTD, UNSA and CIDRE, failed to agree on legal annual salary negotiations with Apple. In France, the law requires many private companies to renegotiate their employees' wages every year.

According to the report, the union is trying to agree on a 7% pay increase to cope with inflation, but store management is only willing to increase it by 4.5%. The union also wants to end the hiring freeze at Apple stores and give all employees the same benefits, no matter what position they hold.

A representative of CGT said that "up to 3/4 of the French stores of the US company" are likely to mobilize for a strike on Friday, September 22, the day iPhone 15 and the latest Apple Watch go public, and the strike will continue on Saturday, September 23.

CTOnews.com noted that there will also be a demonstration at the Apple Opé ra store in Paris. Albin Albin Voulfow, representative of CFDT, said that although it will not stop customers from shopping in the store, the demonstration will be very noisy, and those who want to buy the latest iPhone need to be patient and be prepared to wait longer.
