CTOnews.com, Oct. 1 (AFP)-Andrew Boz Bosworth, chief technology officer of Meta, told reporters at the Connect conference for developers that "most people in the world will experience generative AI for the first time through our technology," AFP reported on Saturday local time.

According to a report by Agence France-Presse, Meta was widely regarded as lagging behind Microsoft, Google, OpenAI and other competitors in the field of AI, but Andrew Bosworth firmly said, "Meta is not lagging behind. We have used AI to enhance our platform around the world as early as before the advent of ChatGPT at the end of last year."

In his view, Meta wants users to get fast, high-quality search results even on smartphones.

In November last year, Meta released a generative AI chat robot called Galactica, which can write articles, solve math problems, and occasionally fabricate answers. But Meta shut it down "quickly". Earlier this year, Meta opened up the Llama 2 model, which developers can fix and create their own chat bots.

CTOnews.com previously reported that during Meta Connect 2023, Meta released a chat robot called "Meta AI" and partnered with Microsoft to integrate Bing search into Meta AI.

Meta AI is now available as a beta in the United States. Users can access Meta through its social media and chat services, including WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram.
