Blizzard: after the end of the OWL2023 of the Vanguard League, Blizzard will devote itself to building a renewed e-sports project.

CTOnews.com, October 3 (Xinhua)-- the Florida Carnival team (Florida Mayhem) won the 2023 season championship in yesterday's OWL2023 final of the Watchman Vanguard League, while China's Hangzhou Lightning team won the third place of the 2023 season, marking the end of another season in the Watchman Vanguard League.

However, after the game, Blizzard officially issued an ambiguous announcement that it would be "committed to building a revitalized e-sports project."

With the completion of the 2023 league season of "Watch Pioneer", we will devote ourselves to building a renewed e-sports project. We are eager to share more finalised details with you.

Judging from this announcement, it seems that the vanguard league is about to undergo a big change, and officials have not positively admitted that the tournament will be over.

It is no secret that the vanguard league has been in dire straits. In the past few years, advertisers have pulled out after blizzard harassment and abuse came to light; Watchman Vanguard was taken offline in Chinese mainland, one of the biggest markets, after failing to renegotiate the agreement with NetEase; and the Chengdu Hunters announced their withdrawal from the Watchman Vanguard League in the middle of the 2023 season.

Earlier this year, a financial document from Blizzard confirmed that it would vote on whether to continue the Watchman Vanguard League under the new terms, or agree to end the game at a termination fee of $6 million per team (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 43.8 million yuan).

When the news of the vote came out, Sean Miller, director of the Watch Vanguard League, said that even if the team owners no longer want to play in the league, the competitive nature of the watch vanguard will continue after the 2023 season.
