Apple tvOS 17.1 expands Enhance Dialogue functions to be compatible with the original HomePod and mini versions
CTOnews.com, Oct. 5-Apple officially released an update to tvOS 17 last month, one of which is Enhance Dialogue, which separates character conversations from background noise, allowing users to hear character conversations more clearly.
CTOnews.com attached the official Apple documentation as follows:
"Enhance Dialogue" separates character conversations from background noise and brings them to the middle channel, allowing users to hear character conversations more clearly when watching movies or TV programs with HomePod (Generation 2) paired Apple TV 4K, regardless of their effects, actions and music.
This feature was initially limited to second-generation HomePod, but after users updated tvOS 17.1 and HomePod Software 17.1, HomePod mini and the original HomePod are also compatible with this feature.
