CTOnews.com, Oct. 7 (Xinhua)-- popular social media platform Instagram has not launched a dedicated app for iPad and is unlikely to do so in the foreseeable future, as Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has said again that this is not their priority.

In response to some users' questions, Mosseri was asked when Instagram would have a dedicated iPad app, and the executive replied that he was "not doing it right now."

To not completely stifle users' expectations, Mosseri also said it would be "a good thing" to have an iPad app at some point, but he thought it was more important to have other new features.

CTOnews.com noted that Mosseri said last year that the number of users of the platform on iPad was "still not enough to be a priority" and that the team was "very focused on other things."

In fact, iPad has a much smaller user base than iPhone. According to IDC, Apple shipped more than 4200 iPhone units in the second quarter of 2023. During the same period, Apple shipped 1000 iPad. For some developers, this difference is enough to get them to give up iPadOS.
