A16z claims that the ranking mainly refers to SimilarWeb's website traffic data as of June 2023, while products with App are estimated (the method is MAU multiplied by the average number of visits per user per month) and weighted.

A16z also said that the list does not include products that "do not provide a web version" and does not count products such as Midjourney that rely on third-party platforms such as Discord to run.
