Thank CTOnews.com netizens Rimi Ishihara for the delivery of the clue to happiness! CTOnews.com, October 9 (Xinhua)-- the University of Exeter in the UK has said that a new master's degree, Magic Law, will be opened in 2024, based on a "recent surge in interest in magic", according to BBC. It is worth mentioning that J.K., author of the Harry Potter series. Rowling (J. K. Rowling) graduated from the University of Exeter in England.
CTOnews.com notes that the degree will begin in September 2024, using history, literature, philosophy, archaeology, sociology, psychology, and drama to demonstrate the role of magic in the West and the East.
Professor Emily Serov, director of the course, said: "the recent surge in interest in magic and occult inside and outside academia is at the heart of the most pressing problems in our society. Decolonization, the exploration of alternative epistemology, feminism and anti-racism are the core of the plan."
Professor Serov said: "this master's degree will make people re-examine the assumption that the West is the land of rationalism and science, while the rest of the world is the land of magic and superstition."
The University of Exeter says the course can help students prepare for careers in areas such as teaching, consulting, mentoring, heritage and museum work, library, tourism, art organization or publishing.
