The standby power consumption is only 3W, and ZTE Corporation completes the pilot project of the first 5G RRU zero consumption base station in the country.
CTOnews.com October 10 news, ZTE announced that Jiangsu Mobile and ZTE have recently completed the country's first pilot case of 5G RRU (radio frequency remote unit) zero-consumption base station. The measured results show that the standby power consumption is as low as 3W, which can respond to the needs of network users in real time and wake up on demand in minutes.
ZTE said that 3W may not be enough to light an energy-saving lamp, but it is enough to light a 4G / 5G dual-band dual-mode base station.
In addition, since June 2022, ZTE Corporation first put forward the "zero load and zero consumption"-automatic start and stop technology for 5G base stations, which has achieved commercial use on a national scale of 5G AAU (active antenna processing unit).
According to CTOnews.com, Huawei also announced the launch of 5W ultra-low-power 5G base stations, known as "industry exclusive 0 Bit 0 Watt", which supports 99% deep sleep, on-demand wake-up, and millisecond shutdown.
