Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida finalised a new round of economic stimulus package at the Forum on Public-Private Cooperation to increase domestic Investment held on October 4th. Japan's Ministry of economy, Trade and Industry (METI) will set up three funds to support semiconductor production and research with a budget of 3.4 trillion yen (currently about 166.6 billion yuan).

CTOnews.com learned from the report that the three financial supports are "Post-5G Information and Communication system enhanced Infrastructure Research and Development Project", "specific Semiconductor funding Program" and "ensuring stable supply support Fund".

According to the Asahi Shimbun, Japan's Ministry of economy, Trade and Industry believes that it is necessary to provide a subsidy of 900 billion yen (currently about 44.1 billion yuan) to the second plant of TSMC, as well as a subsidy of 600 billion yen (currently about 29.4 billion yuan) to the "Japanese national team" Rapidus, and 700 billion yen (currently about 34.3 billion yuan) to traditional chip industries such as Sony CMOS sensors.
