CTOnews.com, October 16 (Xinhua)-- AlexSmitk, a former developer of Sony SIE's first-party game studio Bend Studios, revealed on the X platform yesterday that Sony plans to buy Bandai Namenggong in response to Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

As early as the beginning of this year, Sony's current CEO Jim Ryan tried to carry out a series of negotiations with Microsoft to force Microsoft to give up the acquisition after learning that Microsoft would buy Activision Blizzard, but the talks between Sony and Microsoft soon broke down, and Jim Ryan adjusted its strategy accordingly, changing to "looking for a new acquisition outside the Bungie while waiting for the Blizzard acquisition to be stopped by regulators" and finally chose Bandai Namenggong.
