CTOnews.com, October 17, according to the latest report released by market research firm Counterpoint Research, global PC market shipments fell 9 per cent in the third quarter of 2023 compared with the same period last year due to weak consumer demand, slowing corporate procurement and many other factors.

The report pointed out that due to seasonal factors, global shipments increased for two consecutive quarters in the third quarter of 2023. The agency believes that the PC market has hit bottom and expects shipments to continue to maintain a moderate growth trend in the coming months.

CTOnews.com is enclosing the global PC market shipments in the third quarter of 2023 as follows

Lenovo shipped 16 million units, down 5% compared with the same period last year (16.9 million units).

Hewlett-Packard shipped 13.5 million units, an increase of 6% compared with the same period last year (12.7 million units)

Dell shipped 10.3 million units, down 14% compared with the same period last year (12 million).

Apple shipped 6.5 million units, down 18% compared with the same period last year (7.9 million).

Asustek shipped 4.8 million units, down 13% from 5.5 million in the same period last year.

The report points out that AI has become a new driver of global PC shipments, and estimates that artificial intelligence PC will achieve a 10-year compound growth rate of 50 per cent from 2020 and dominate the PC market after 2026, with penetration expected to exceed 50 per cent.

Intel, Qualcomm and other PC CPU manufacturers are working closely with PC OEM manufacturers to develop the next generation of mainstream models, and a large number of new products are expected to be launched after the fourth quarter of 2023, marking a new chapter in the PC industry.
