CTOnews.com, October 19 (Xinhua)-- analyst company Gartner today released "Top Ten Strategic Technology Trends in 2024," which claim to be "10 strategic technology trends that will bring significant disruptions and opportunities to IT leaders in the next 36 months." CTOnews.com found that most of these trends revolve around artificial intelligence.

According to Gartner, the top ten strategic technology trends include:

Artificial intelligence trust, risk and security management

Ongoing threat exposure management

Sustainable technology

Platform engineering

Artificial intelligence enhanced development

Industry artificial intelligence cloud platform

Intelligent application

Generative artificial intelligence for the whole people

Enhanced connected workforce (Augmented-Connected Workforce)

Machine customer (Machine Customers)

According to Gartner, each trend is related to one or more key business themes: protecting and preserving past and future investments, building the right solutions for the right stakeholders at the right time, and providing value to the changing environment of internal and external customers.

Gartner also said that by 2026, generative AI will significantly change 70% of the design and development efforts in Web and mobile applications.

In this year's trend list, there are five trends in the "asset protection" category: artificial intelligence trust, risk and security management (AI TRiSM), ongoing threat exposure management (CTEM), industry artificial intelligence cloud platform, sustainable technology, and citizen-wide generative artificial intelligence.

Gartner claims that investors can focus on these "asset protection" category trends, but also need to be careful when betting on them and realistically calculate the return on investment of the project.
