IT House, October 23 (Xinhua) SK Telecom, a major South Korean mobile operator, and Deutsche Telekom announced that they have signed a letter of intent to jointly develop a telecom industry-specific LLM, enabling global telecom companies to easily and quickly develop generative artificial intelligence models.

According to the letter of intent, SKT and Deutsche Telekom plan to work with artificial intelligence companies such as Anthropic (Claude 2) and Meta (Llama2) to develop a multilingual large language model tailored to the needs of telecom companies.

IT House has noted that it plans to launch the first version of telecom-specific LLM in the first quarter of 2024, supporting multilingual services such as German, English and Korean.

According to reports, compared with ordinary LLM, this kind of LLM dedicated to telecommunications companies has a stronger ability to understand the relevant areas of telecommunications services and customer intentions, so it is suitable for customer service areas such as artificial intelligence contact centers.
