Foreign media TheVerge recently interviewed the developers involved in the production of the game, in order to "think about the future career path," the developer interviewed could not be named, he claimed that the reason for the game failure is not the lack of developer strength, but because the publisher GameMill only gave a year to produce, and the game production budget is not in place.

Developers who are not allowed to be named claim that "Skull Island: Rise of King Kong" began production in June last year and ended on June 2 this year. The game was produced "from scratch." The team did not have any relevant resources. Only 2-20 people participated in the work each time. The whole development process from scratch included game testing and so on was only one year.

Publisher GameMill sponsored the game, and their strategy was to get a series of studios to develop "canned games" at a small cost in a short period of time, but only provided very limited funding, which was spent by February of this year. After that, all budgets were borne by the studio in-house. Iguanabee Studio could not afford to undertake everything except game development alone, so it ended up in a tragic situation.
