The new ban upholds a ruling in January that Apple's Apple Watch watch, which reads blood oxygen levels, infringes Masimo's patents.

However, the new ban did not take effect immediately, but was submitted to the current president's staff team for review, and there will be 60 days to confirm whether to approve the ban in accordance with the policy. At the end of the 60-day review period, Apple can appeal the injunction to the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

An Apple spokesman, translated by CTOnews.com, responded as follows: "Masimo mistakenly tried to use ITC to stop millions of American consumers from buying a potentially life-saving product while marketing their own fake Apple Watch. Although today's decision will not have an immediate impact on Apple Watch sales, we believe that this decision should be overturned and will continue to appeal."

Joe Kiani, chief executive of Masimo, said the decision "sends a strong message that even the world's largest companies are not above the law."
