CTOnews.com, October 28 (Xinhua)-- Blue Origin, a commercial space company owned by billionaire Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos (Jeff Bezos), unveiled the design of the Blue Moon lunar lander on Friday, local time, and showed a model of the lander to NASA Director Bill Nelson at an engine production plant in Alabama.

According to reports, what is displayed this time is the "Blue Moon" Mark 1, which is a single-launch lunar freight lander that can transport up to 3 tons of cargo anywhere on the lunar surface and can stay on the lunar surface, providing a "safe, reliable and economical" way to enter the lunar environment.

Blue Origin says Blue Moon will be ready to fly to the moon within the next three years and is expected to launch a manned mission to the moon by the end of the decade, when the lander will be Blue Moon Mark 2.

CTOnews.com previously reported that on May 20 this year, NASA announced that Blue Origin had won a $3.4 billion contract from the agency to build an active lunar lander.
