CTOnews.com, October 30 (Xinhua) Suzuki recently unveiled a new generation of Swift concept car at the Tokyo Motor Show. Although the car is called a concept car, it is actually close to mass production and is expected to be officially released in 2024.

CTOnews.com noted that the cash Swift was launched at the end of 2016 and changed slightly in 2020. The new generation of Swift retains some unique design elements of the previous generation of models and maintains the original size and proportion. However, the entire body has been redesigned to improve aerodynamic performance.

The 2024 Suzuki Swift has a length, width and height of 3860 mm, 1695 mm and 1500 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2450 mm, which is almost the same as the current model.

Suzuki didn't say much about the powertrain, but described it as an efficient engine, low fuel consumption and a CVT gearbox. Some foreign media found that the car used a three-cylinder engine with a light hybrid system, which seems to have nothing to do with the current 1.25-liter K12C four-cylinder engine. In addition to the electrified version, the new engine is expected to be available in a pure internal combustion version. In addition, there are rumors that the new car will also have a "strong hybrid" version.

The mass production version of the 2024 Suzuki Swift is expected to be launched in Japan by the end of this year. It is worth mentioning that as Suzuki withdrew from the Chinese market completely in 2018, the new generation of Suzuki Swift will probably not be available to domestic consumers.
