Daimler truck North America begins mass production of the pure electric model Freightliner eM2, with a maximum range of 250mph

CTOnews.com, Oct. 30, Daimler's website shows that Daimler trucks North America has begun mass production of the Freightliner eM2, an electric medium-sized truck designed for pick-up and delivery. The car is manufactured at Daimler's truck manufacturing plant in Portland, Oregon and will be delivered to select commercial leasing companies in the United States and Canada.

It is understood that the eM2 is based on the Freightliner M2106 Plus platform and uses a two-gear gearbox design to minimize energy costs per mile, and mileage depends on the battery capacity of each model.

The 6-stage single-motor version is equipped with 194 kWh batteries with a range of 180 miles (CTOnews.com Note: about 289.68 km) and provides 190 horsepower, while the 7-stage dual-motor version is equipped with 291 kWh batteries with a range of 250 miles (about 402.34 km) and provides 255hp.

The car comes standard with fifth generation active braking assistance, electric tailgate alarm, ACC, lane departure warning, intelligent high beam, automatic wiper / headlight and side protection assistance system; Detroit Connect connected vehicle solution supports real-time monitoring of battery health, charging status and energy use.
