Christopher Lawton, YouTube communications manager, said the use of ad-blocking software violated the platform's terms of service, saying: "Advertising supports a diverse global creator ecosystem and enables billions of people to watch content they like on YouTube."

Starting November 1, YouTube Premium announced price increases for individual, family and student plans for YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium, as well as price increases for annual plans in Germany and Turkey.

YouTube said it doesn't "make these decisions lightly," and said the price increase would allow it to "continue to improve Premium and support the creators and artists you watch on YouTube."
