According to CTOnews.com on November 4, NASA has launched "Spot The Station" App, which can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android.

The App improves on NASA's official "Spot the Station" website to make it easier for users to find the space station and provide options for capturing and sharing eyewitness pictures and videos in real time; its built-in compass will show users the location of the space station-even on the other side of the world.

CTOnews.com noted that the App, created by NASA's Space Operations Mission Council and the International Space Station Program of the Center for Excellence in Collaborative Innovation, is open source and can be accessed, modified and customized by the public.

The space station is visible because it reflects the light of the sun-the same principle as seeing the moon, but the station is not bright enough during the day and can only be seen at dawn or dusk at the user's location.

Therefore, the observation opportunity for the space station can be once a month to several times a week, because the place where the observer is located must be dark, and the space station must be right overhead. With App, users will know when the space station appears overhead and how to find it.
