CTOnews.com, Nov. 10, AMD reported growth in server, laptop and desktop business in the third quarter of 2023.

Among them, the market share of desktop PC increased by 5.8% compared with the same period last year, 3.8% in mobile devices and 5.8% in server market.

Compared with the same period last year, AMD's profits in desktops, laptops and servers increased by 4.1%, 5.1% and 1.7%, respectively.

AMD's market share of consumer processors rose to 19.4% in the third quarter, up from 17.3% in the previous quarter and 15% in the third quarter of 2022.

In the third quarter of 2023, AMD's share of desktop processors was 19.2%, down slightly from 19.4% in the previous quarter, but significantly higher than 13.9% in the same period last year.

AMD's revenue share increased month-on-month and year-on-year, suggesting that the average selling price (ASP) is higher as demand shifts to the more expensive Ruilong 7000 processor model.

In the mobile processor sector, AMD accounted for 19.5% in the third quarter of 2023, compared with 16.5% in the previous quarter, compared with 15.7% in the third quarter of 2022, which reached a peak of 24.8% in the second quarter of 2022.

AMD's share of the server processor market has increased steadily, with breakthroughs in 2022 and 2023, and its share growth accelerated sharply. In the third quarter of 2023, AMD's share was 23.3%, up 18.6% from a month earlier and 17.5% from a year earlier. The share of sales increased by 4.7% over the previous quarter and 5.8% from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com note: AMD previously reported turnover of $5.8 billion, gross profit margin of 47%, operating income of $224 million, net income of $299 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.18 for the third quarter of 2023. Based on non-GAAP criteria, gross profit margin is 51%, operating income is $1.3 billion, net income is $1.1 billion, and diluted earnings per share are $0.70.
