Due to the confluence of the sun, the NASA Mars Explorer will be missing for two weeks.
CTOnews.com, November 13 (Xinhua)-- due to the biannual confluence of the Sun and Mars (Earth and Mars are on both sides of the Sun), NASA has announced that its Mars probe will operate independently for the next two weeks.
Of course, that doesn't mean they won't do anything for two weeks, and the NASA Mars rover and orbiter will continue to collect data during that time.
NASA said it was dangerous to try to send commands to Mars during this period, as thermo-ionized gas from the solar corona could disrupt radio signals sent from Earth to Mars, leading to unexpected conditions.
To avoid any problems, NASA suspended transmission from last Saturday and will last until November 25.
According to CTOnews.com, the NASA Mars probe, which currently includes the perseverance and Curiosity rovers, the Smart helicopter, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, the Odyssey probe and the MAVEN orbiter, will work independently for some time in the next two weeks, but their airborne instruments will continue to collect mission data.
Once communications are restored, the Mars orbiter will send all the scientific data to be processed back to Earth, and the Mars spacecraft can begin to receive instructions again.
