Howie launches the industry's first notebook computer, the 16:10 aspect ratio 5.2MP image sensor OV05C10

CTOnews.com November 13 news, Howell Group today released the industry's first 5.2 megapixel image sensor OV05C10 specially developed for 16:10 aspect ratio notebooks.

According to reports, the sensor supports interlaced high dynamic range (HDR) and is suitable for mainstream and high-end laptops, tablets and Internet of things devices.

OV05C10 image sensor can support automatic view of video conference by automatically adjusting the field of view of the camera to keep the speaker in the center of the image while cutting out the distracting background.

OV05C10 also supports human presence detection (HPD), which claims to improve the efficiency of artificial intelligence (AI) applications and extend the battery life of portable devices.

According to CTOnews.com query, the OV05C10 is a low-power backlight (BSI) image sensor that uses Howie's PureCel Plus technology, supports double exposure interleaving HDR options of 60 frames per second at 5.2 million pixels, and has an ultra-low power mode to support HPD functions.

The OV05C10 is now ready for production and will go into mass production in February 2024, Howe said.
