In the latest version of the Canary channel Edge browser 121.0.2220.0, an experimental Flag called "Web App System Media Controls on Windows" has been added, but it hasn't come into effect yet.

Currently, in Edge browsers, users play web application audio, and their volume controls are mixed with other Web applications and the browser's own volume controls, especially when multiple Web applications play audio at the same time, which can make managing audio playback challenging.

Engineers said in an official article shared not long ago that "by introducing support for SystemMediaControls and instantiating each dPWA that plays audio, it helps bridge the gap between Web applications and native applications."

CTOnews.com note: if this experimental Flag works, each Web application that plays audio can have its own control, which means you will be able to view and control media playback for each PWA independently without having to switch between tabs or windows.
