More immersive, Microsoft Teams enhances 3D VR conferencing experience

CTOnews.com, November 16 (Xinhua)-- Microsoft announced the launch of Microsoft Mesh; at the 2021 Ignite developer Conference. In January this year, Microsoft integrated it into Teams applications to hold meetings in virtual space without the help of VR headers.

CTOnews.com Note: Microsoft Mesh is an Azure-based cloud platform that allows anyone to build immersive, multi-user, cross-platform hybrid real-world applications.

Microsoft Mesh currently operates as a stand-alone platform, Nicole Herskowitz, vice president of marketing at Microsoft Teams, said in an interview with The Verge:

Microsoft Mesh has undergone a very meaningful transformation. It's more like a platform. We did make a big shift, introducing it into everyday applications such as Microsoft Teams, and really SaaS the service so that everyone could access it at work.

This does stimulate opportunities to bring new technologies to the workplace, and we have done a lot to make mixed meetings more inclusive and productive, but we also want to go one step further so that employees feel connected no matter where they work.
