Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 details: Google Pixel devices can turn off the "At a Glance" function

CTOnews.com, November 17 (Xinhua)-- Google yesterday launched a new version of Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1 for Pixel phones, tablets and Fold models, and some developers have found that Pixel phone users can turn off the "At a Glance" widget on their desktops after installing this update.

The post posted by ▲ source Mishaal Rahman on the X platform CTOnews.com learned that Google launched the "At a Glance" function in the era of Pixel 7, which is somewhat similar to the collection of Apple iOS's "real-time activity" and widget "smart stack" functions. It can quickly display a series of real-time notification content on the desktop of Pixel phones. For example, it can display takeout information, online ride-hailing distance, express package tracking, alarm clock countdown, real-time weather warning, boarding pass and so on.

However, Google has received negative feedback from some users who believe that the "At a Glance" feature has caused unnecessary "intrusiveness" after the launch of the feature.

In Android 14 QPR2 Beta 1, Google added a hidden switch that allows users to completely disable the "At a Glance" feature, making room for other application icons and widgets.
