Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: smartphone production fell 4.8% from January to October compared with the same period last year, while integrated circuit production increased by 0.9% over the same period last year.
IT House, November 28, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the latest statistics: from January to October, the added value of the electronic information manufacturing industry grew 1.7 percent year on year, 0.3 percentage points higher than the previous three quarters; the growth rate was 2.4 percent and 0.2 percent lower than that of industrial and high-tech manufacturing industries in the same period.
In October this year, the added value of the above-scale electronic information manufacturing industry increased by 4.8% over the same period last year, 0.2 percentage points higher than that of the industry in the same period.
In the first 10 months of this year, the output of mobile phones in the main products reached 1.25 billion, an increase of 1.6 percent over the same period last year, of which the output of smartphones was 906 million, down 4.8 percent from the same period last year; the output of microcomputer devices was 281 million, down 20.8 percent from the same period last year; the output of integrated circuits was 276.5 billion, up 0.9 percent from the same period last year; and the output of optoelectronic devices was 1.1753 trillion, up 9.3 percent.
From January to October this year, the operating income of the above-scale electronic information manufacturing industry reached 12.1 trillion yuan, down 2.9% from the same period last year, 0.5% lower than the decline in the previous three quarters; the operating cost was 10.5 trillion yuan, down 2.6% from the same period last year; and the total profit was 482.6 billion yuan, down 18.2% from the same period last year. 0.4 percentage points lower than the decline in the previous three quarters The profit margin on operating income was 4%, the same as in the previous three quarters.
In addition, the construction of 5G network in China is progressing steadily. By the end of October, the total number of 5G base stations in China reached 3.215 million, accounting for 28.1% of the total number of mobile base stations.
By the end of October, the total number of mobile phone subscribers of the three major operators had reached 1.726 billion, a net increase of 42.14 million over the end of last year. Of these, 5G mobile phone users reached 754 million, a net increase of 193.6 million over the end of last year, accounting for 43.7% of mobile phone users.
