It is reported that speaker manufacturer JBL is expected to follow Sonos's example by launching a multi-room loudspeaker system.

CTOnews.com Samsung Harman, JBL's parent company, yesterday announced the acquisition of the Roon player platform, with Roon's founder claiming that everything will remain the same, existing device support and membership unchanged, will "remain valid and will continue uninterrupted."

CTOnews.com learned that Roon is an audiophile friendly, multi-device, multi-room, wireless music management and streaming platform that is compatible with almost any audio device, allowing devices to receive 32-bit/ 768kHz PCM and DSD512 audio after subscription, with AirPlay audio up to "CD quality"16-bit /44.1 kHz.

Foreign media techradar believes that JBL is now Harman's largest sub-brand, Harman in the acquisition of Roon, is expected to be in the new JBL speaker "Roon Tested" label, and let a series of JBL speaker get "enthusiast software update," but also expected to follow Sonos, launch a series of JBL multi-room speaker system.
