BMW remote 3D view function recovery, license plate and face automatic coding

CTOnews.com, November 29, in order to meet the requirements of laws and regulations related to data security, BMW gradually turned off the remote 3D view function in My BMW App (the panoramic parking image function on the car side is not affected), which allows car owners to view real-time images around the vehicle on their mobile phone.

According to BMW, BMW recently launched the latest version of My BMW App and began to gradually restore the remote 3D view function, but it is currently only suitable for some iD8 and iD8.5 models. The restored remote 3D view function will automatically code the license plate and face in order to protect privacy, which does not affect the normal use of the car owner.

According to CTOnews.com, to use the remote 3D view function, car owners need to turn on "remote 3D parking images" in the vehicle's privacy settings. It should be noted that the remote 3D view function depends on the 360 °look around camera of the vehicle, and the side image cannot be seen if the owner manually puts away the outer rearview mirror. In addition, you can only use the remote 3D view feature three times every two hours, and if you exceed the number of times, it will prompt "too many requests have been sent, please try again later".

In addition to the remote 3D view function, the latest version of My BMW App also adds some new features and optimizations, such as lock screen widgets (real-time view of vehicle remaining fuel / electricity and estimated mileage), BMW supercharging stations and local activities. In addition, the iD9 car machine system can use My BMW App for RSU remote software upgrade.
