2024 Renault 5 production version preview picture: there is a huge charging indicator on the hood
CTOnews.com, Nov. 30, Renault will launch the Renault 5 pure streetcar next year, but only in Europe. The company has now released some final design details of the mass-production model ahead of its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show on February 26 next year.
These trailers show the final appearance of the front and rear light sets of this retro-style car, and you can see some changes in the shape and appearance of the light sets of the mass-production model compared with the prototype in early 2021.
One of the most interesting trailers is the Renault 5's hood, where engineers integrate a battery charging indicator in the shape of an oversized "5". The electric car will initially be launched only with 52kWh battery packs, the WLTP has a range of 248miles and is only 154.3 inches long, making it ideal for traveling around the city.
The mass production version of the Renault 5 Electric will be built on the Renault CMF-B EV platform and share 70 per cent of the Clio hatch and Renault Captur parts on the same platform, so the car will cost 30 per cent less to produce than the Renault Zoe. The Renault 5 Electric production version will also be equipped with multi-link rear independent suspensions, compared with non-independent rear suspensions for most models of the same class. In addition, the car's battery pack will use four large modules, rather than 12 small modules for the Zoe, so the weight of the battery pack will be reduced by 15kg. Officials say the battery energy density of the Renault 5 Electric production version will be higher than that of the Zoe, and a stronger chassis will also reduce vehicle noise and vibration.
The 2024 Renault 5 costs about 25000 euros (currently about 196000 yuan), followed by the 2025 Renault 4 and 2026 Twingo, which will also be electrified.
