AI blessing, Microsoft invites users to test the automatic typesetting function of Word and Outlook

CTOnews.com Microsoft today issued a press release inviting Microsoft 365 Insider project members to test typographical improvements in Word and Outlook to improve and enhance the readability of articles.

Microsoft is testing new AI typesetting features in Word and Outlook, using adaptive, optimal paragraph algorithms for full alignment.

Microsoft introduced intelligent alignment, adaptive alignment, kerning and OpenType hyphenation in the new version. Users can click File> Options> Advanced> Reading Mode option, and check or uncheck the relevant check box in the "Advanced Layout in Reading Mode" column.

CTOnews.com Note: In terms of OpenType ligatures, sometimes irregular shapes of letters conflict with each other. For example, the hook on the lowercase letter f can hit the point on i or j; in the letter "edgy," the tail of y is connected to the g in front of it, and the user can turn on the relevant option to make the letter appear correctly.
