The prequel to Game of Thrones, the Family of Dragons, is announced for the first time in the second season, which will be broadcast next summer.

CTOnews.com, December 3 (Xinhua)-- the first trailer for the second season of Game of Thrones prequel "the Family of Dragons" has been announced by HBO boss Casey Bloys at a HBO event in New York that the show will air in the summer of 2024.

CTOnews.com notes that the trailer is launched in Westeros and continues to explore what happened during the Targaryen dynasty centuries before Daenerys (Amelia Clark) ascended to the Iron Throne.

The Family of Dragons, adapted from George R R Martin's Fire and Blood, is set 200 years before Game of Thrones and tells the story of the Targaryen family. In August last year, the first episode of the show was released on HBO Max, making it the most watched premiere in its history.

The first season has been launched in China and can be watched on platforms such as bilibili and Tencent Video.
