Sony's new patent exposure: intelligent PS5 DualSense handle can give game hints
CTOnews.com, December 4 (Xinhua)-- Sony appears to be improving its PlayStation 5 DualSense handle, according to a new patent discovered by Game Rant.
Sony filed the patent on November 30 and introduced a predictive auxiliary solution: a machine learning model to continuously monitor players' game performance to determine when players need help. If the system thinks that the player is about to close the card, it will give a prompt by lighting the handle button.
The handle can light up under the handle button, shoulder trigger and joystick to display keystrokes, which will also be spelled out on the controller's touchpad, which is also a display.
What CTOnews.com needs to note is that Sony's application for this patent does not necessarily mean that a similar PS5 DualSense handle will be introduced. According to statistics, Sony applied for about 1400 patents in 2022 alone, most of which are not expected to be commercialized in the short term.
