CTOnews.com December 6, Apple today officially added the original iPhone SE to the list of outdated (vintage) products. It has been seven years since the phone was launched in March 2016.

CTOnews.com notes that the original iPhone SE has been on sale until September 2018, five years ago, so it meets Apple's outdated product standards. According to Apple's regulations, products are marked as obsolete after five years of suspension and are considered discontinued after seven years of suspension.

Obsolete products may not necessarily be repaired through Apple or its authorized service provider, but Apple will still provide maintenance services if parts are still available.

Apple continues to promote the development of the iPhone SE series, which is currently the only iPhone equipped with an Touch ID fingerprint sensor. So far, the series has launched three generations of products, of which iPhone SE 3 was launched in March 2022.

In addition, Apple today added the second-generation 12.9in iPad Pro and special edition Mickey Solo3 Wireless headphones to the list of outdated products, while the Powerbeats 2 and Solo2 wireless headphones were also discontinued.
