CTOnews.com, December 12, according to the Guangzhou Daily, the State key Laboratory of metamaterial electromagnetic Modulation Technology-Automobile Compact Field Joint Innovation Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as "Joint Innovation Lab") has recently been officially unveiled and settled in Shenzhen, which is the first laboratory in China to test the OTA performance of vehicle antennas.

It is understood that the laboratory is jointly built by Shenzhen enterprise Guangqichao Materials and China Automotive Research Automobile Inspection Center (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Heavenly Inspection Center"). The person in charge of Guangqichao Materials said: "the establishment of the joint innovation laboratory will provide a common basic guarantee for the large-scale industrialization of V2X and other vehicle networking, and promote the rapid and safe landing of vehicle networking in automotive applications."

CTOnews.com noted that modern vehicles require a large number of high-performance antennas and integrated antenna modules to provide all modern broadcast and infotainment services, as well as automotive communications and control.

Automotive high-performance antennas can achieve functions such as vehicle networking (C-V2X), satellite navigation (GNSS), tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), keyless entry (such as UWB) and cellular communication (4G, 5G).
