By the end of November, 25039 5G base stations had been built in Anhui Province this year, and 13066 of the province's 13735 administrative villages had covered the 5G network, completing the annual target of 25000 new 5G base stations and 95% of the 5G network access rate of administrative villages one month ahead of schedule.
According to CTOnews.com query data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by the end of October, the total number of 5G base stations in China had reached 3.215 million, accounting for 28.1% of the total number of mobile base stations, and the number of 5G mobile phone users in the three basic telecommunications enterprises reached 754 million.
From January to October this year, China's telecom business revenue totaled 1.4168 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.9 percent over the same period last year. The three basic telecommunications enterprises earned 219 billion yuan from Internet broadband business, an increase of 9.3 percent over the same period last year, while the development of emerging businesses such as IPTV, Internet data center, big data, cloud computing, and Internet of things totaled 301.2 billion yuan, an increase of 20.5 percent over the same period last year.
At the same time, mobile Internet traffic has maintained rapid growth. From January to October, cumulative mobile Internet traffic reached 245.6 billion GB, an increase of 14.8% over the same period last year.
