Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens for the delivery of clues about the past. CTOnews.com, December 16 (Xinhua)-- Chevrolet's classic muscle car, the Comero, was once famous as the prototype of the Transformers bumblebee, but the high-displacement sports car with a 6.2-liter V8 engine was discontinued this week.

Chevrolet announced this week that the last Comero, a Comero ZL1 1LE Collector's Edition with its own matte metal paint, has a 6.2L LT4 V8 turbocharged engine with a maximum horsepower of 659 horsepower and a maximum torque of 881N ·m.

▲ Touyuan General Motors, also reported by CNBC, announced in a statement that its plant in Lansing will adjust its workforce due to the end of production in Comero. Meanwhile, GM plans to cut about 1300 jobs in Michigan from next year.

GM had said it planned to release an electric version of the Comero and released a preview map of a two-door electric sports car in August, according to CTOnews.com. Judging from the picture, the side lines and contours of the new car look like the classic Chevrolet Comero.

GM said at the time that by 2026, models such as SUV, cars and trucks based on the Altenon platform would use two-way charging technology.

In March, a GM spokesman said it would release 2024 Comero "collection" packages, but declined to say whether it planned to use the name Comero on electric vehicles.
