On December 16, openEuler Summit 2023 was held at the Beijing National Convention Center. The event was jointly organized by members of the openEuler community, Kirin Software, Universe Software, Kirin Xinan, Huawei, SuperFusion, Intel, Software Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Softong Power and Runhe Software Community.

At present, the cumulative installed capacity of openEuler series has exceeded 6.1 million sets. According to IDC forecast, the market share of openEuler series in China's server operating system will reach 36.8% in 2023. The openEuler community has attracted 1300 leading enterprises, research institutions and universities to join, bringing together 16800 + open source contributors and setting up 100 + special interest groups (SIG). The openEuler open source community has become the most dynamic and innovative open source community in China.

Join hands with 9 overseas open source foundations to build a new global open source ecology

OpenEuler is committed to building an international open source assistance platform, and in deep cooperation with international mainstream foundations, it has supported 98% of the world's mainstream open source software. Euler is deeply involved in the formulation and promotion of global mainstream software supply chain security standards and specifications such as OpenChain and OpenSSF, taking the lead in passing the OpenChain ISO 5230 open source software protocol certification, and the community infrastructure meets the OpenSSF SLSA L3 standard. In addition, it also works with global mainstream communities and organizations to meet the localization requirements of various regions around the world and standardize the international governance of the Euler open source community. At present, the openEuler community is engaged in in-depth cooperation with 9 overseas head open source foundations to provide services to more than 150 countries and regions.

Intel Announces Gold donor to openEuler Community

Intel (Intel) has signed CLA to join the openEuler community since 2021, actively contributing to the ecological adaptation and technology optimization of x86 platform, introducing x86 multi-generation platforms Ice Lake, SPR and Emerald Rapids into openEuler, and integrating AI computing acceleration framework into openEuler. At the same time, it has made in-depth contributions to multiple core SIG of openEuler.

At the meeting, Intel announced that it will officially become the gold donor of the openEuler community and will work with the industry to build an operating system ecological base to provide better resources and support for developers around the world. Yang Jiguo, director of Intel Open Source Technology Center, said: "in the future, Intel will continue to integrate Intel's upstream open source projects into openEuler, and work with openEuler on AI to enable AI computing from software and hardware to meet the needs of various industries for AI intelligent computing technology."

Donate to Euler, 13 new projects sign donation intention

Since the establishment of the project group by openEuler at the end of last year, leading companies and developers in various industries have begun to join in projects. The number of open source projects has continued to increase, and the industry coverage has become increasingly diversified. At the meeting, 13 projects from 8 companies, including China Mobile Cloud capability Center, Unicom Digital Technology Co., Ltd., and the Software Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, signed donation intentions with the openEuler project group. Donation projects from different industries and fields inject new innovation into openEuler, further enhance the technological innovation capability of the community, and promote the ecological prosperity of the community.

Top Ten Joint Innovation achievements of openEuler go to Industry users

OpenEuler has brought innovation to thousands of industries, and ten joint innovation achievements of openEuler & friends 4.0 have been released. Wave UBML, vast depth, Intel, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, JD.com, Mobile Cloud, Shenxin, Migu Video, WeBank and China Mobile online carry out joint innovation of the whole process and the whole scene around the actual use scenarios of users. By strengthening cross-platform support and improving AI and ML support, openEuler is providing more convenient and powerful technical support for developers and promoting the prosperity and development of the whole open source operating system ecology.
