Google Android 13 Go release: support Material You design, Google Play system update

The Android Go version has been around for five years and currently has more than 250 million monthly active devices that use low-end chips, have limited memory and storage capacity, and run some form of Android Go.

CTOnews.com learned that Android 13, the Go version, focuses on reliability, availability, and customization. Starting with this version, Google Play updates can be used on Go devices, allowing phones to receive important software updates outside of major Android versions.

In Android, users can find Google Discovery feeds on the left side of the home screen and will now make their debut on Go devices. Also available is the Material You design language, which was previously limited to non-Go Android devices, but is now being covered on Go devices.

Users can design the whole color scheme of the phone according to the wallpaper. However, this is not automatic-when the user sets the wallpaper, there are four color schemes for the system to choose from.

In addition, some key features introduced in Android 13 will also be available in the Go version, such as notification permissions and application language preferences. Google says new devices running Android 13, the Go version, will be released and released in 2023.
