Take Win10 for example.

Click Start-Windows Administration Tools-Computer Management

Right-click on the disk you want to compress, and a window will appear. Select the compressed volume, and enter the corresponding capacity. An additional unallocated partition will appear.

Continue to right-click on the C drive to select the expansion volume, enter the unallocated partition capacity, and complete the format-free increase in the C drive capacity.

Although this method is very convenient, it should also be noted that if your C disk and D disk are not a disk, you cannot increase the capacity of the C disk. For example, a C drive is a 120GB solid state hard disk, and another D drive is a 1TB mechanical hard disk, then the maximum capacity of the C drive is only 120GB, and it is impossible to borrow the space of the D drive to increase the disk.
