CTOnews.com November 21, Apple CEO Tim Cook, 63, recently revealed that Apple has made "very detailed" succession plans for his successor, but he also said he has no plans to leave Apple.

In a 45-minute interview with the BBC Sounds podcast "Dua Lipa: At Your Service," Cook confessed to singer Dua Lipa that he didn't know how long he would stay at Apple. "I love it here," he said, looking back on his 25 years at Apple. "I can't imagine life without Apple, so I'll be here for a while." But when asked if Apple had any CEO succession plans, Mr Cook said: "We are a company that believes in making succession plans, so we have very detailed succession plans. Because something unpredictable always happens. I may go to the wrong side of the road tomorrow. I hope it doesn't happen. I pray not."

Dua Lipa asked, "can you tell me who is the successor?" Cook replied, "I can't say, but what I want to say is that my job is to find a few people who are capable of taking over, and I really want the next chief executive to come from within Apple. So this is my role: to give the board a few people to choose from."

The 45-minute interview video CTOnews.com noticed that in this interview, Cook tells the story of his day as an Apple CEO, sharing his experience growing up in a blue-collar family in Alabama and eventually becoming an Apple CEO.
