Teenage Engineering launches K.O. II audio sampler: retro style design, $300,000USD

CTOnews.com Nov 23, Teenage Engineering today launched an entry-level EP-133 K.O. II Portable Sampler (Groovebox) priced at $300 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 2148 RMB).

It is reported that EP-133 K.O. II is the follow-up product of the company's PO-33 KO sampler, which claims to be "a music workstation". Although the sampler is a bit large, it can still be put into a backpack, the company said.

The sampler is equipped with a 3.5mm headphone Jack, 12 mono channels and 6 stereo tones, 46.875 kHz / 16-bit stereo / mono sampling, 12 force sensing buttons and a rectangular LED screen, powered by four AAA batteries and designed in a retro style.

In addition, the sampler has 999 sampling slots and is equipped with a built-in microphone for recording your own sound, built-in sound effects such as drumbeat and synthesizer, support for USB-C connection, and sampling can be loaded from a computer or MIDI device.

CTOnews.com notes that EP-133 K.O. II is an entry-level product that is positioned as "light and extravagant", with only the storage space of 64MB, which the company claims to be intentional. David Eriksson, co-founder and head of hardware at Teenage Engineering, explained that "if the sampler has too much storage space, it will leave users too many choices instead of completing a song in one fell swoop."
