CTOnews.com, November 29: after 13 maintenance updates, Kernel.org 's official website currently marks Linux Kernel 6.5 as EOL (end of life cycle), which means that no further errors and security fixes will be received in this version.
Linus Torvalds is celebrating Linux's 32nd birthday and released an update of Linux Kernel 6.5 on August 27, 2023.
CTOnews.com note: this update adds exciting new features, such as Wi-Fi 7 support, MIDI 2.0 support in ALSA, ACPI support for RISC-V architecture, Landlock support for UML (user mode Linux), and AMD "Zen" system improvements.
After three months of maintenance, Greg Kroah-Hartman, a famous Linux kernel developer, announced Linux Kernel 6.5.13 and said it was the last maintenance update for its branch.
