WeChat Pay supports foreigners to register with the new permanent residence certificate.
According to CTOnews.com news on December 1, visa-free entry for people from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia will be granted no more than 15 days after entering China. Today (December 1), a new permanent residence identity card (five-star card) for foreigners has been officially launched.
WeChat Pay has simultaneously supported foreigners to register with the new permanent residence certificate, Wechat announced in a post.
CTOnews.com previously reported that WeChat Pay has completed further support for foreign users to use mobile payments in China. After overseas users use WeChat Pay to bind foreign cards, they can use mobile payment in the vast majority of merchants in China, including catering, transportation, wine travel, Shangchao and other fields.
At the same time, foreign card users can also use various payment methods, such as scanning code and being scanned code, Mini Program payment, secret-free withholding, App payment and so on.
At present, foreigners can use six kinds of certificates to open WeChat Pay. Including: passport, entry and exit permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents, entry and exit permit for Taiwan residents, residence permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents, residence permit for Taiwan residents, permanent residence ID card for foreigners, and new permanent residence permit.
Use a foreign card to pay the existing service charge. The handling fee is free of charge if the amount of a single transaction is less than or equal to 200 yuan. If the amount of a single transaction is greater than 200 yuan, a handling fee of 3% will be charged.
