CTOnews.com, December 6 (Xinhua) General Motors CEO Mary Barra (Mary Barra) announced that the next generation of Chevrolet Bolt EV electric vehicles will be unveiled in 2025, based on GM Ultium platform.

She said the current Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV planned to stop production by the end of the year and that GM was planning a full shift to the Ultium platform, including new electric Chevrolet Silverado, Blazer and Equinox EV models.

▲ 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV Redline GM explained on the company's third-quarter earnings call that the new Chevrolet Bolt will provide "a better driving, charging and owning experience", with the biggest change being the introduction of lithium iron phosphate batteries.

GM said the next-generation Chevrolet Bolt EV will be the first Ultium model in the US with LFP batteries, which will help reduce costs. For reference, the current Chevrolet Bolt EV starts at $26500 (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 190000 yuan).

Due to capacity constraints, GM delivered 4222 Ultium-based electric vehicles in the third quarter of this year, up more than 200% from 1395 in the second quarter.

General Motors is preparing to produce a new Bolt at its Fairfax plant in Kansas and will launch a new range of Cadillac and Chevrolet electric models, including possibly a performance Corvette electric sports car, Reuters reported last month.
