Cross-region matching will break through the previous regional restrictions, placing summoners from different regions in the same game, and summoners in different regions can add as friends to each other and form a team to play all the modes in League of Legends. The summoners participating in qualifying compete for the same ranking, so only the current season's ranking is retained in the game.

In the first stage of cross-region matching, the current 29 regions will be gradually divided into 8 alliance regions according to the dimensions of service bearer, region and operator, including 5 new alliance regions. and three groups of constant regions (i.e. Ionia, Black Rose and Top of the Canyon). Summoners in the same league region will get through the cross-zone matching function. Officials say that under the current first phase of the division plan, no matter which region the summoner is currently in, they can get high-quality matching experience and high-quality server support.

League of Legends will implement the following measures to optimize the change process:

● soft rating match: after all the league regions have made cross-region matches, taking full account of the fact that different regional summoners may need to adapt to different game styles and levels of other regional summoners, the official will set 3 "soft rating" games in ranking mode. In these three "soft ratings", the successful summoner will receive normal points, while the defeated summoner will not deduct points. The official goal is to quickly adjust the rankings in these three games so that the summoner is at the right level in the new league region.

● High Rank settlement: when the region officially opens cross-region matching, League of Legends will record the summoner list of the guru and Masters in the current regional service season. After the normal settlement of the current season, if the region opens cross-region matching this season, the summoner who reaches the guru or king in any settlement will take the highest Rank in the two accounts to award season ranking rewards. Summoners in other segments are normally settled at the final Rank of the current season.

Officials said that the underlying technical conditions required for cross-district matching in the region are very high, and it will take a longer period of time for national service and fist games to achieve these technical conditions. Considering the demands of existing users for cross-region matching and the existing technical conditions, the official plan is to achieve "comprehensive cross-region matching" step by step, and the long-term goal is certainly to achieve "comprehensive cross-region matching".
