China exports new energy light rail trains to Argentina for the first time

The new energy light rail train developed by CRRC Tangshan Company runs from the volcano station to Tilkara station.
This is the first time that China's "smart" new energy light rail train has been exported overseas and "started" in South America, and has become an important symbol of opening a new chapter of cooperation in the field of new energy rail transit between China and Argentina.
According to the official account of ▲ Tuyuan "CRRC", the contract for the project was signed on May 5, 2022, the first train was put off at CRRC Tangshan on June 6, 2023, shipped from Nantong Port on September 20, 2023, and arrived at ZARATE, Argentina, on November 14, 2023, achieving efficient and fast delivery.
After this batch of new energy light rail trains are put into operation, they will pass through the Umahuaca Valley, a world cultural heritage site in Argentina. The appearance lines and color matching of the trains are also characterized by the Umahuaca Valley, and the unique ultra-wide-angle viewing window design is adopted to provide convenience for tourists. At the same time, the train adopts lithium battery drive technology.
CTOnews.com query learned that the train uses a mature six-axle articulated platform, with two modules as a unit, two motions and three sets of bogies, powered by DC750V lithium battery, which can modularize and expand a variety of power modes. There are cabs at both ends of the train, which can be driven in both directions, which can be flexibly grouped by multiple units or reconnected with multiple groups of trains, with a capacity of 72-388 passengers. The car has been put into operation on the Belgrano C inter-city passenger meter rail line with a top speed of 70km.
